RE: Phone Call from Barbara Wallace, Consul Assistant

between 4:30 PM and 4:45 PM

Dear Mr. Ramotowski:

In reference to the above phone call, Ms. Wallace stated that the Assault hearing will be heard on the 8th of May 2000 instead of the 15th of May. She advised that a Mr. Ferguson would do every thing possible for my safety while I was in Cat Island.

Upon completion of the call, I immediately called my husband and informed him of the call and the change of date. His comment was let me call Inspector Mortimer (Cat Island Police Department) and I will call you back.

He called back and said that Inspector Mortimer knew nothing about the date change and would call Prosecutor Ferguson, we both thought that Ms. Wallace was referring to Asst. Police Commissioner Ferguson until the call to Inspector Mortimer.

After talking to me, he again called Inspector Mortimer and the Inspector stated that he had talked with the Prosecutor and he had made an error and the hearings would be held on the 15th.

I will be awaiting Wednesday morning the 3rd of May for the call ,Ms. Wallace stated that she would give me concerning the date for the hearing and a confirmation of the actual date.

My husband asked Inspector Mortimer, who gave him the date of the 15th? The Inspector stated Mr. Bowe, the Island Administrator.

Here are a few facts that made me suspicious of the 15th date, the 14th is Mother’s Day. There is no service into the island by Bahamasair on Sunday and Bahamasair does not arrive until 12:10 PM on Monday.

In addition the summons states that it will be heard by the Island Administrator.

My husband was informed that Ezra Russell was in a deep conversation with Mr. Bowe at the Oceanview Restaurant in Devil’s Point on Sunday. Maybe it means nothing but wanted this information on record.

I received a phone call today from the Police Force in Nassau, they were asking about one of the United States Citizens that gave a statement to the police in January. They called my number looking for her. They should have her statement which includes a contact number. I gave them the information I had.

In addition, our attorney , Mr. McNair in Pennsylvania , has suggested that we have a court reporter transcribe both hearings. This request has already been given to Roger Minnis, my husband’s Bahamian attorney to obtain one for the 15th of May.

I will be awaiting Ms. Wallace’s phone call.

Sincerely.

Sandra Robertson
