Does the newly enacted Crime Bill apply to Cat Islanders?
In Letter to Asst Commission Ferguson Robby references Cat Island Policeman's  comments "What do you want me to do about it.? "  The above building owned by said policeman was built after the arrival of Sand Money on the island. According to reports by the "Island's CNN"  said policeman's brother was suppose to have been the second person  to discover the cocaine.  Also according to "CNN,"  $50,000 was paid to a policeman on Cat Island, to make sure that the police were not around during another drug deal years before.  The house in the background was built after this alleged  drug deal.

Ezra Russell's brother Jason  lives in the above house.  Jason runs the New Bight Service Station along with his sister Betsy. There are less than 300 cars on Cat Island and there are other service stations.  Jason's wife is a beautician.  They built a restaurant behind the house 5 or 6 years ago. Extensive renovation was done on the above house after the arrival of Sand  Money on the island. Are there mortgages on the house and restaurant .  Betsy, Jason's and Ezra's sister, has almost completed a new house since the arrival of Sand Money.  According to "The Cat Island Town Crier",  Betsy solicited a foreign  pilot to transport cocaine into Florida.  
Ezra Russell, not a pilot, (hires a pilot)  purchased the following aircraft Piper Aztec,  N5374Y in November 1999.(After Sand Money)   "The Cat Island Town Crier:"  advised me  that Ezra Russell was in the United States to purchase the aircraft.  I talked with Tom Hill, DEA Country Attaché', to the Bahamas and he assured me that Ezra Russell was on the "stop list"  with U. S. Immigration.  Plane was purchased from Archer C. Persky, d/b/a Persky Air Service, Lapine Al. and Ezra Russell attempted to license the plane in his personal name. .I advised the FAA. that Ezra was not a U. S. Citizen and therefore not eligible to title a airplane in the United States. ( He had to commit fraud in attempting to register the airplane, apparently with the assistance of Arthur Persky)  The plane was then titled in  in a Delaware Corporation, apparently with Mr. Persky's assistance according to FAA IFSO in Miami. N5374Y is currently registered to ETTF, Inc.-30 Old Rudnick Lane-Dover, Dl 19901, registration certified 3/29/2000  In January 2001 plane was still flying in and out of The Bight - Cat Island, illegally under FAA rules and CAA (Bahamas) rules.

The above houses were built by Ezra Russell's older brothers Lincoln and Allie, side by side just south  of the New Bight Airport.  Lincoln and Allie both owned Cessna 402s  both aircraft were U. S. registered.  Lincoln had a FAA pilot license, Allie was not a licensed pilot but flew the 402 and operated a charter service in the Bahamas.   
The brothers had something else in common they both died violent deaths, Lincoln  in the 402 and the Allie shot in the head  at his  Nassau residence.

Lincoln Russell

     Lincoln Russell had just taken off from Hawks Nest Airport, some say he had dropped off two Columbians he flew over his father Allan Russell's hotel (The Bridge Inn) and then the plan went down.  There are thoses that say that Lincoln lost control of the aircraft and it crashed.  Other say it exploded mid air. The Russell family was closely associated with( American)  Michael Kennedy, the one time owner/manger of the Cutlass Bay Club, who was sentenced to 12 years in U. S. prison on drug related charges stemming from his Cat Island drug operation

Allan (Allie) Russell

 Allie had been arrested in Inagua  on drug related charges.  He was released on bail.  Rumors indicate that Allie said " If I go down everyone goes down,  I won't be like Russman referring to his father."   No one was ever arrested in connection with Allie's death.  Rumors still continue concerning  Allie's killer. Stories range to rival drug gangs, to counterfeit money used to pay off his supplier even rumors repeated by the DEA in Nassau that a family member was responsible.
     Although both of the brothers had children, the houses are occupied by Ezra's two younger brothers, Maurice and Bradley.  When Allie was killed his girlfriend was living in the house along with Allie two sons.  The Russell family forced Shelly and Allie's two sons to return to her parents house in Port Howe.  She still resides  in Port Howe with her parents and Allie's sons. ( I will be interested in knowing what happens to the property when the children become of age.)

    Allie had a daughter who lived in Old Bight.  The child became pregnant in 1999  The Bahamas Children's Services should have investigated. Reliable sources advised   that the underage girl  named her uncle  Ezra Russell as the father.  Teachers in Cat Island, who were aware of the allegation,  should have reported this information to the proper authorities. The allegation was wide spread but was ignored by ministers and teachers alike.

    There was another Russell' brother,  Sherman.   Sherman was convicted of armed robbery and is serving his sentence in the Fox Hill Prison in Nassau.
